Laughing Stock Chardonnay Okanagan
2020
About this winery
Laughing Stock Vineyard Founders David and Cynthia Enns led conservative, methodical, and calculated lives in the Financial Industry. In 2003, they followed their hearts, and bullishly invested everything into the wine industry. An emotional decision that their pinstriped peers thought was ... fiscally foolish, and financially unwise. The Laughing Stock name may have unwittingly been conceived at this time.

Product notes
INSIDER TIP: Partially fermented in a concrete egg creates amazing mouthfeel and texture.
Production notes
This year’s Chardonnay grapes were sourced from Okanagan Falls. The grapes were whole cluster pressed for a fresh fruit profile using gravity to settle the wine and then put into French oak barrels and concrete egg. A partial malolactic conversion was allowed to occur. This, combined with lees stirring, created complexity and a sense of balance that doesn’t overpower the fruit flavours. Aged 10 months in French Oak
Tasting notes
Sun-warmed pineapple, Madagascar vanilla and rich butterscotch emanate from the glass. This wine has notes of creme caramel, caramelized pear and hints of toasty hazelnut. This Chardonnay's creamy mid-palate and delicate oak are balanced with a nice acidity.
