Product notes

The 2019 vintage was a moderate growing season throughout spring and summer. Harvest began around the first week of September and maintained a consistently steady pace, finishing in early November. Near-perfect temperatures and lack of precipitation during harvest allowed the grapes to fully ripen. The resulting wines show beautiful color, texture, and flavor.

Production notes

The grapes for our 2019 Pinot Noir were primarily sourced from prime vineyards up and down California’s Central Coast, Lodi, Monterey, and Clarksburg regions, where warm days and cool nights provide ideal ripening conditions for grapes to develop complex flavors and deep, concentrated color. The grapes were harvested at night to preserve ideal acidity and sugar levels. Harvest ran from October through November 2019. The juice cold-soaked in stainless steel, before it was warmed up, to initiate a native yeast fermentation. After the wine was pressed off the skins, it underwent full malolactic fermentation before aging for 10 months with French oak. This regimen adds roundness and complexity to our Pinot Noir’s vibrant fruit flavors.

Tasting notes

Our 2019 Pinot Noir is medium ruby in color with a medium body and soft tannins. The wine offers aromas and flavors of ripe, red cherries and violets with hints of Asian spice, sweet tobacco, and Madagascar vanilla bean on the finish. This wine is very versatile and pairs well with a range of foods from roasted meat to poultry, cheese, and seafood.
